Yaesu FC-30 External Automatic Antenna Tuner (ATU) is specifically engineered for use with the FT-897 and FT-857 transceivers, providing coverage across HF and 6m frequencies. It features a matching impedance range of 16.5 to 150 Ohms, effectively accommodating an SWR of up to 3:1. This capability ensures that long wire antennas within this impedance range can achieve proper matching, optimizing performance and signal quality.
Installation of the FC-30 is user-friendly, requiring only the supplied control cable and a 50-ohm patch lead equipped with PL-259 plugs for connection to the FT-897 or FT-857. The external HF/50MHz antenna connects to the FC-30’s ANT port, while the 2m/70cm antenna is directly linked to the transceiver. This straightforward setup allows operators to integrate the ATU into their existing equipment quickly.
Operating within a frequency range of 1.8-30MHz and 50-54MHz, the FC-30 can handle a maximum input power of 100W. It has 100 ATU memories, enabling users to store and recall tuning settings for various frequencies and conditions.
