The Icom RS-8600 is a powerful remote control software package designed specifically for the IC-R8600 wideband receiver. Whether connecting directly via USB or remotely over a network, the RS-8600 provides full control of the receiver with high-quality, low-latency audio and enhanced visual monitoring tools.

  • Delivers low-latency, high-quality audio from the receiver to your PC

Multi-Receiver Management

  • Register up to 256 receivers within the software

  • Select and control any one registered receiver at a time for remote operation

Audio Recording Capability

  • Record received audio directly on your PC using the built-in recording utility

  • Audio files are saved to local storage for later playback or analysis

Comprehensive Receiver Control

  • Access and control most functions of the IC-R8600 receiver through the software

  • Note: SD memory card operations are not supported remotely

Real-Time Spectrum Monitoring

  • Even when remote control is disabled, spectrum scope data can still be viewed in real time

  • Provides continuous visual feedback without interfering with local use

Enhanced Waterfall Display

  • The PC-based waterfall screen is taller and more detailed than the IC-R8600’s built-in display

  • Ideal for extended signal monitoring and analysis

High-Speed Scanning

  • Maintains scanning performance equivalent to the IC-R8600 hardware

IC-R8600 Wideband Communication Receiver
The IC-R8600 covers an extensive frequency range from 10 kHz to 3 GHz, and supports decoding for multiple digital communication modes including D-STAR, NXDN, dPMR, and P25. With advanced software demodulation and a high-resolution spectrum scope, the IC-R8600 is a premium receiver designed for demanding monitoring environments. When paired with the RS-8600 software, it becomes an advanced remote monitoring solution.
