Colour TFT Display for Superior Operability and Visibility. 100 Watts of Solid Performance The RF Amplifier in the FT-991 provides a clean and solid 100 Watts of Operating Power (50 Watts VHF/UHF) and is combined with a large heat-sink and forced air automatic cooling fan to increase operating time and prevent overheating. Compact, Lightweight, & Portable
The FT-991 Is a compact, lightweight package suitable for portable, mobile and base installations. Measuring 8.8″(W) x 3″ (H) x 9.9″ (L) at just 9.7 pounds, this robust, full-featured mobile/portable radio is ready to go when and where you are! Internal Automatic Antenna Tuner InternalHigh-Speedd Automatic Antenna Tuner is included in the package. The antenna tuner uses an LC switching network that has a large capacity of 100 channel memory.
The tuning data is automatically memorized to reduce tuning time when changing frequency. High Accuracy TCXO +/-0.5PPM High-Resolution DDS/PLL local Oscillator is included in the standard package. USB Capable The FT-991 can be connected to a computer using a USB cable for CAT control and firmware updates or an optional SCU-17 Interface Unit to support USB Audio In/Out, TX Control (PTT, Key, Shift).
The FT991 Transceiver is a versatile communication device designed for amateur radio enthusiasts. It operates across a wide frequency range, receiving from 30 kHz to 60 MHz, 18 to 164 MHz and aand420 470 MHz. The transceiver supports various emission modes, including CW, AM, SSB, USB, FM, and digital modes like RTTY and C4FM. With a frequency stability of ±0.5 ppm and an operating temperature range of -10ºC to +50ºC, the FT991 is built for reliable performance under diverse conditions.
Regarding power output, the FT991 can transmit between 5 to 100 watts on HF/50 MHz and 5 to 50 watts on VHF/UHF, with specific modulation types for different modes. The device features a robust receiver circuit type, employing triple conversion superheterodyne for SSB/CW/AM and double conversion for FM/C4FM. Sensitivity ratings are impressive, with figures as low as 0.11 µV for certain bands, ensuring clear reception even in challenging environments.
The transceiver’s design includes a compact form factor, measuring 9″ x 3.2″ x 10″ and weighing approximately 9.5 lbs. It operates on an sDC supply voltage of 13.8 V ±10% and features an antenna impedance of 50Ω. With power consumption figures of 1.8 A in receive mode and 23.0 A during transmission at maximum output, the FT991 balances efficiency and performance. Specifications are subject to change, ensuring users benefit from ongoing technical improvements.
